You are already approved

blog july 2017

I am sure you can relate to this. Throughout our lives, we fill out numerous forms. Most of you have likely submitted countless applications, resumes/CVs, cover letters, and references in hopes of being among the few lucky ones making it through the first round of screening hoping not to be tossed into the garbage can right away. Many of you have submitted samples of your writing, articles, book proposals, lyrics, screenplays, poems, photographs or similar artistic work in anticipation that someone – anyone really – would discover your creative side. Many of you likely have applied for loans, and various forms of financial aid in hopes that someone would trust you with more money so you can make your next dream come true or, at least, pay your open bills if nothing more. In any case, it’s all about some sort of approval. At least most people think so.

Once you have added even more copies to your already overflowing document folder, all you can do is hope (and perhaps pray) and whatever you have just applied for, will be approved. Time seems to stop while you wait anxiously by the telephone checking your mailbox several times a day. Day after day, no response. The waiting game begins. “Should I follow up?” you might be asking yourself. “Can I ask whether they even received my application? What if my forms got forwarded to the wrong department?” In our administrative, complicated world, these are justified questions of course. Papers, forms, documents, get filed wrongly or forgotten. Clerks are out the office or change positions having your file sit on their desks. Your analytical mind likely goes through all possible scenarios while you wait for your approval.

Days turn into weeks; weeks turn into months; you are still waiting. What are you waiting for? “Approval” you might say. Let me tell you something. You are already wanted. You are already appreciated. You are already approved. The kind of approval I would like to remind you is that you are not the person with a name on the form, letter, or document. You are more than your work experience, education, circumstances, status, income, and address.

You are already approved. When you were born into this world as the person you are today, you came from a beautiful place many call heaven, the spirit world, universal intelligence, higher self, or God. It is no coincidence that you were born and are here right now on our planet Earth. This higher realm makes no mistakes. You are here because you have a purpose here. You are talented. You are intelligent. You are needed and valuable. Look at a beautiful flower. You are perfect just like the flower. You are the right fit. You are wonderful. You came from the same place as the seed of a beautiful flower. No approval needed. You are already approved. I am glad you are here.

Love,

Barbara

Mother Nature really does know best

october-2016

Mother Nature really does know best. As the warm autumn sun caresses my spirit with golden rays, I become nostalgic. Slowly but surely I start to realize that there are only three months left this year. I reminisce the time gone by, the goals I set myself at the beginning of the year, the lessons I have learned, and the changes I have made. I also think about my long list of things to do that are yet to be done. Really? Only three months left? “That can’t be! I have not done everything I wanted to do this year,” my mind tells me.  “I wanted to write a book and inspire the world,” my heart expresses. “I wanted to be more loving and help more people in need,” my soul whispers softly.

Walking through the park, I take notice of the colorful yellow and red leaves. They are bold; they shine brightly; they raise the vibration of the energy surrounding them. I don’t know anyone who does not love fall foliage. Looking at these vibrant miracles of nature, I thank Mother Nature for enlightening my path once again. Mother Nature reminds me that fall is not a time to run and get things done. Fall is not a time to be sad over time gone by, stressing even more, panicking over how much time is left this year, and counting how many things I have not done. Instead, Mother Nature shows in all glory that it’s time to slow down. The days are getting darker and cooler yet Mother Nature warms my heart and soothes my soul walking through this beautiful park in the middle of the busy city. Mother Nature shows in vibrant colors that it is time to enjoy the sight and to take it all in – now.

In a few weeks from now all leaves will have fallen, skies will be gray, and nights will be cold and dark. Once nature withdraws from the outside world, birds leave for warmer lands, and the sun sets in the afternoon, there will be time to get things done. For now, enjoy the show of fall foliage. Let the warm autumn sun caress your spirit. Allow the colors of the leaves raise your vibration, balance your chakras, and give you energy for the upcoming winter. Wave the birds moving south goodbye. Mother Nature knows when it’s time to slow and when it’s time to grow. Mother Nature really does know best.

Love,

Barbara

Christmas in Küsnacht – A magical place for Christmas

Dear friends, Slide1

As I wander the streets passing houses seamed with magnificent Christmas lights, the scent of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts in air, snow capped mountains in the distance, and the last rays of sun sparkling on the lake, I know I am home. The people here greet others with a smile and help each other; that’s so kind. No, I don’t live here normally. I am just a passerby. But as Christmas time approaches, I’ll make sure that I come by.

The lake is so serene during the wintertime, so quiet and still. In the distance I see a soft light. As I go closer, I see an angel, as it seems, that now appears in all its might. You once said that angels live where you do; now I know this to be true. But wait, this is not heaven, this place is real. A blissful place like this really exists. It’s a very special place really no one should miss. I come here every year, and even I wouldn’t want to be anywhere. Of course you make this place even more magnificent, even divine. You have made this place your home a long time ago. No wonder why you love it so. Knowing this fills my heart with happiness for you. I know that you that you are fine here and pray that the angels take care of you for many more years. There is something else that’s special here. It’s your unconditional love for everyone that’s for sure. As I feel love in the air, so my heart fills with love from you. My eyes fill with tears of gratitude and happiness for you.

Yet my heart aches a little bit too. It’s my Christmas wish to spend the holidays with you. That’s another reasons to be here; so I can be near. While I cannot be with you at this moment, I am at least near, my dear. But of course I cannot intrude. That would really be rude. So I return to my own chambers for the night, and think of you and your magical Christmas lights. Küsnacht sounds a little like a kiss and good night. So I am sending you a kiss and wish you a good night, one full of love and light, and thank you, Anna Mae, for your Christmas lights, and love. The “Golden Twigs” are gorgeous and shine brightly, just like you.

My dear friends, as the saying goes “home is where the heart is”, I hope you get to spend the holidays wherever your heart is. Christmastime is such a special time of the year. I just love the cheer in the air, the beautiful Christmas lights, the joyful Christmas music, the festive food, the wonderment in children’s eyes, the smiles on people’s faces, and the warmth in everyone’s hearts. Most of all, I love this time as it a time of loving and being loved. I believe that this is what the true Christmas spirit is all about.

I hope you get to spend the holidays with loved ones or near loved ones in a place of love. Wherever that might be; may you find your magical place, and may it be filled with joy and love.

From my heart to your heart, Merry Christmas.

Love, Barbara
