What’s courage got to do with it?

Dear friends,

I wish you a new year filled with courage. Here is why. As Dr. Maya Angelou used to say, courage is the most important of any virtues. She taught us that we cannot do anything for a long period of time without courage. I think she was right. Take the example of love for instance. I am sure you have been in the situation that you told someone you loved him or her. Yes, it does take courage to do so of course. However, have you been in the situation that you felt you had to keep saying and showing your love? I sure have. When I open my heart and love you, I will tell you. I will show you. You might love me back or you might not. To keep loving no matter what, takes not only consistency and patience, it takes a lot of courage. There might be many adversities and challenges you have to face. Society might not agree with who you love. Your family and friends might not agree with who you love. But when you love someone with all your heart and your affection comes from the purest spot in your soul, I think it does not matter who it is. If your love comes from the truth, I think it’s the right thing to do. Unfortunately, many people seem to judge others too easily and harshly. This is why we often ask ourselves the famous question “What would the neighbors say?” and sometimes ignore our own feelings, wishes and dreams.

I think that too many people live other people’s lives. I also believe that too many people don’t do things and don’t follow their dreams because they are afraid of how other people would judge them. We tend to please other people and live our lives according to others’ expectations. Are you truly happy? This is my question for you today. Many of you will answer this question with a big “No!” Why not? Aren’t you here to live your life according to your wishes? Didn’t your soul create a soul plan for you to live and follow a specific path for you alone? Your soul plan likely includes other people of course. However, it is your path and your life. We are all here to fulfill our own missions, whatever they might be. So why do you still keep asking yourself “What would the neighbors say?” I believe that we often ask ourselves this question out of fear of judgment and perhaps being ridiculed.

Indeed, opinions and wishes might differ, but we don’t. We all come from a place beyond our human comprehension that consists of light, peace, acceptance, and unconditional love. Even the most judgmental person comes from this place. The more you remember that, the more you understand that you don’t have to fear anything and you can do anything.

So what’s courage to do with it?

I wish you all a wonderful new year filled with courage. Go out and do what you have always wanted to do. Go out and tell someone you love him or her, no matter what. Tell your loved one again and again, no matter whether it comes back or not. Do the unexpected, do something exciting, do whatever makes your heart and soul sing! It really does not matter whether it makes anyone else happy. When you are happy yourself, it will make others happy. When you are happy, your inner light will shine on others and raise their vibrations too.  Let’s make ourselves happy this year. Let’s have courage!

That’s what courage has got to do with it.

Christmas in Küsnacht – A magical place for Christmas

Dear friends, Slide1

As I wander the streets passing houses seamed with magnificent Christmas lights, the scent of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts in air, snow capped mountains in the distance, and the last rays of sun sparkling on the lake, I know I am home. The people here greet others with a smile and help each other; that’s so kind. No, I don’t live here normally. I am just a passerby. But as Christmas time approaches, I’ll make sure that I come by.

The lake is so serene during the wintertime, so quiet and still. In the distance I see a soft light. As I go closer, I see an angel, as it seems, that now appears in all its might. You once said that angels live where you do; now I know this to be true. But wait, this is not heaven, this place is real. A blissful place like this really exists. It’s a very special place really no one should miss. I come here every year, and even I wouldn’t want to be anywhere. Of course you make this place even more magnificent, even divine. You have made this place your home a long time ago. No wonder why you love it so. Knowing this fills my heart with happiness for you. I know that you that you are fine here and pray that the angels take care of you for many more years. There is something else that’s special here. It’s your unconditional love for everyone that’s for sure. As I feel love in the air, so my heart fills with love from you. My eyes fill with tears of gratitude and happiness for you.

Yet my heart aches a little bit too. It’s my Christmas wish to spend the holidays with you. That’s another reasons to be here; so I can be near. While I cannot be with you at this moment, I am at least near, my dear. But of course I cannot intrude. That would really be rude. So I return to my own chambers for the night, and think of you and your magical Christmas lights. Küsnacht sounds a little like a kiss and good night. So I am sending you a kiss and wish you a good night, one full of love and light, and thank you, Anna Mae, for your Christmas lights, and love. The “Golden Twigs” are gorgeous and shine brightly, just like you.

My dear friends, as the saying goes “home is where the heart is”, I hope you get to spend the holidays wherever your heart is. Christmastime is such a special time of the year. I just love the cheer in the air, the beautiful Christmas lights, the joyful Christmas music, the festive food, the wonderment in children’s eyes, the smiles on people’s faces, and the warmth in everyone’s hearts. Most of all, I love this time as it a time of loving and being loved. I believe that this is what the true Christmas spirit is all about.

I hope you get to spend the holidays with loved ones or near loved ones in a place of love. Wherever that might be; may you find your magical place, and may it be filled with joy and love.

From my heart to your heart, Merry Christmas.

You don’t have faith, you are faith

Dear friends,

Have you ever heard that you are actually a spiritual being having a human experience? What do you think this means? I think that it means that there is a part of us, somewhere deep inside of us, which connects us to the divine. I believe that that we are eternal souls that incarnate and reincarnate into our third, physical dimension to have this earthly, human experience. I believe that this inner essence of the divine is ever present in our lives and physical bodies. I believe that it enables us to have thoughts, feelings, receive divine guidance while on earth as well as to remember our divine essence which I believe is unconditional love, abundance, and faith. You might call it your soul, spirit, intuition, or higher self. Whatever you call it, just know it is there with you, right this moment. This inner form of energy is part of you. Let’s have a look at how you can connect to this part of you.

There are many ways to connect to your own divine essence. One way is to know that you are faith. No, I don’t mean to have faith. Perhaps you are going through a rough patch of your life. Perhaps you have just lost your job, are worried about your finances, concerned about the future, praying for a loved one’s recovery, grieving someone, suffering from depression, or simply have the blues and are confused about what’s next in your life. If you asked someone for advice on what to do, perhaps that someone would tell you to have faith. I would like to tell you that you don’t have to have faith, but that you are faith. Undoubtedly, there is some sort of higher power/intelligence at work in our lives. I know that everything happens for a reason. As human beings we often don’t understand the meaning of an event or situation that has occurred in our lives. I believe that we don’t have to. But I know that we are faith.

As spiritual beings having a human existence, I believe that all we have to do is to remember where a part of us comes from. All we have to remember is that we are a part of the divine. Wherever you seek it – outside of yourself such as in an omniscient God, or inside of you, such as in your inner self – just know it is there and you are a part of it. Whatever you might be going through right now, know that you have that inner light within you. Know that you are light and love. Know that you have the abundance, wisdom, and power to change your life. Know that you have the strength to get through whatever you are going through right now or whatever might come. You know that because you not only have these qualities in you but you are these qualities, right in this moment as a spiritual being having a human experience. The feelings you are feeling might not feel good. It is easy to lose hope and want to give up. However, do know that you don’t have to. Your feelings are just telling you that you are human. If your feelings are not good, you know that you can turn to your divine essence for the comfort and faith that you are seeking.

This post is dedicated to all my friends, who are going through a rough patch in their lives. Know that I am always here for you. Know that you don’t have to have faith that everything is going to be all right. Know that you are faith. You are a spiritual being having an earthly existence. The divine is faith. And so are you.

Love and faith,

Barbara
